The Town of Whitby provides waste collection services to Whitby residents that include residual waste, green bin organics, yard waste, metal and bulk special collection services. The Region of Durham is responsible for Blue Box collection and the processing of the different waste streams. The Town of Whitby in 2009 diverted 60% of its residential waste from landfill. This is the second year in a row that the Town of Whitby has ranked the highest in Durham Region for diversion. Keep up the great work Whitby!
