Starting September 1st, 2010, voters will be able to check to ensure that their name and information is correctly listed on the voters' list.
NEW for the 2010 Election, when you vote you must present original identification before you can receive a ballot.
If you are unable to vote on Voting Day, Advance Voting opportunities will be available concurrently for all eligible voters at any of the following three locations. Thursday October 14 through Sunday October 17, 2010 - 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.
All available positions have been filled. Thank you for your interest in the 2010 Municipal Election, however the Town of Whitby is no longer accepting applications to work in the Municipal Election.
Any qualified Whitby voter listed on the Voters' List or who has obtained an approved application to revise the Voters' List may appoint another qualified Whitby voter to vote on their behalf.
For the 2010 Municipal Election there will be a question on all ballots in the Regional Municipality of Durham regarding the Direct Election of the Regional Chair. Complete details can be found on the Regional Municipality of Durham's website.
Section 45(2) of the The Municipal Elections Act, 1996, as amended, states: "In establishing the locations of voting places, the clerk shall ensure that each voting place is accessible to electors with disabilities."
In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (MEA), Town of Whitby Council is required to have a Municipal Election Compliance Audit Committee to consider compliance audit applications with regard to Candidates' financial statements filed for the 2010 Municipal Election.
